Daily Itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in the Algarve
Arrive at Faro and a guide will welcome you. You will then be transferred to the hotel in Cabanas de Tavira. You will have time to explore the city or take the hotel private free boat to the beach on the other bank of Ria Formosa.
Overnight in Cabanas de Tavira.

Day 02

Cycling Tour 1:  Cabanas de Tavira - Vila Real de Santo António Loop (56 km/ 34 mi)
Leaving the hotel, you will cycle along Ria Formosa through Cacela Velha, a must-stop to admire one of the best views of the area, Manta Rota, Altura and Monte Gordo. The route will take you to Vila Real de Santo António, on the banks of Guadiana River. Continue inland through Castro Marim and back to Cabanas de Tavira.

Day 03
Cycling Tour 2: Cabanas de Tavira - Faro (51 kms/ 31 mi)
On your third day, leaving Cabanas behind and passing through some saltpans, you will reach the charming city of Tavira. Continue your way to Olhão, you will pass through small villages like Santa Luzia and Fuzeta, famous for its fresh fish.
Just next to Olhão is your destination for this day, Faro where you will have the opportunity to visit the old town, inside the walls.

Day 04
Cycling Tour 3: Faro - Armação de Pêra (67 km/ 41 mi)
Today you will be your last at Ria Formosa and sandy beaches will give place to limestone cliffs. 
After leaving Faro you will pass through some luxurious golf resorts until you reach Vilamoura, popular for its fancy marina. Next to Vilamoura, you will find Falésia cliffs with stunning views and Albufeira, a more touristic city. 
Arrifes, Galé and Salgados beaches are just next on your way to Armação de Pêra, through Lagoa dos Salgados, a natural park with a large quantity and variety of bird species, the perfect place for birdwatchers.

Day 05
Cycling Tour 4: Armação de Pêra - Lagos (61 km/ 37 mi )
The chapel of Senhora da Rocha is your first stop just before heading inland to Lagoa and then to Ferragudo, a lovely fishing village with more than 500 years of history that was able to resist the pressure of construction.
Further west, you will arrive at Praia da Rocha, in Portimão and continue to Alvor bay where you can choose to cycle around the bay to Meia Praia or take the boat to Lagos.
Overnight in Meia Praia, Lagos.
Day 06
Cycling Tour 5: Lagos - Sagres (61 kms/ 37 mi)
On your last day cycling, you will have the opportunity to visit some of the best-known places in the Algarve, like Ponta da Piedade, Aldeia da Luz or Burgau Beach.
Almost at the end of your tour, you will arrive at Vila do Bispo, where the landscape changes with the influence of the Atlantic Ocean. In Cabo de São Vicente, explore the lighthouse and then ride to Sagres, and visit the fortress and the fishing harbor.
Overnight in Sagres.
Day 07
Departure
If this is your last day around Portugal, transfers can be arranged to the airport but if you prefer to stay a few more days, we can help you with that and give some recommendations.
