Day 01

Arrival to Portugal
Get the Train/Bus to Guarda.
Transfer from Lisbon/Porto to Guarda (optional).
Briefing with an A2Z Guide/delivery of Bikes.
Overnight in Guarda.

Day 02

Bike Tour 1: Guarda | Belmonte (distance: 35 km | climbing: +720 m)
Leaving Guarda behind you´ll cross some typical villages until you arrive at the Historical Village of Belmonte. The town of Belmonte in Cova da Beira commands a broad view of the eastern slopes of the Serra da Estrela mountains, and fully justiﬁes its name. Tradition has it that the name Belmonte comes from its location (beautiful hill). Some say, however, that it comes from 'belli monte', the hill of war. A sunny place, with good people, endless vistas and centuries-old history.

Day 03

Bike Tour 2: Belmonte | Termas do Cró (distance: 45 km | climbing: +698m)
Today's ride is very interesting: beautiful landscapes where you´ll be able to explore the history, the traditions, the colours, the smells and the tastes of such a diverse territory.
You will pass Sabugal, which has one of Portugal’s best-kept castles, rising at the top of a mount surrounded by river Côa. Before the foundation of Portugal, this castle was occupied, in 1296 by King D. Dinis. The Portuguese borders were only set one year later, by the Treaty of Alcanizes. Then you go until Termas do Cró.

Day 04

Bike Tour 3: Termas do Cró | Almeida (distance: 51 km | climbing: +602m)
The pleasure of ending the day with the greetings of an ancient local inhabitant, still reflecting in its face the hardship and happiness of a life lived in harmony with the strengths of nature, is one of those moments that will make you smile with joy and gratitude. This can happen in the last stop, at the Historical Village of Almeida.
Almeida is one of the crown jewels of Portuguese military architecture – the hexagonal shaped walls of Almeida's fortress were built in the XVII Century.
Overnight in Almeida.

Day 05

Bike Tour 4: Almeida | Cidadelhe (distance: 41km | climbing: +355m)
Today you will ride to Cidadelhe, a UNESCO World Heritage site due to Pre-historic granite figures found in the area. Its Castle and amazing views are also a highlight not to be missed!
Overnight in Cidadelhe.

Day 06

Bike Tour 5: Cidadelhe | Guarda (distance: 55 km | climbing: +895 m)
Leaving Cidadelhe behind, today will be your last ride of this amazing journey in such an idyllic region, full of history and traditions.
You´ll arrive at Guarda again, which was built into the mountain landscape of Serra da Estrela, and that was one of the most important strongholds in a set of fortifications that defended the Portuguese border against Castile and León during the Middle Ages.
Overnight in Guarda.

Day 07

Departure
After breakfast end of services.
Get the Train/Bus from Guarda to Lisbon/Porto.
Transfer from Guarda to Lisbon/Porto (optional).
