Daily Program

Day 01
Arrival to Porto
Transfer from Porto Airport to a selected Hotel in Porto.
Time permitting, a short orientation car tour after the group's arrival to familiarize with the city.
Day 02
Explore the city of Porto
Morning guided tour in the UNESCO historic centre of Porto. Nestled among the hills of northern Portugal, Porto is Portugal’s second-largest city and one of its most picturesque. The ancient churches, elegant squares and beautiful monuments that fill Porto’s historic centre all swoop down to Ribeirinha, the riverside area protected as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Guided visit to a Port Wine Cellar, including a Port Wine tasting. Just across the river from Porto is where you will find one of Portugal’s most cherished traditions: the art of ageing port wine. Centuries ago, wine cellars established themselves here to age the delectable wine that was produced in the Douro region.
Free time to explore the city after lunch. Suggestions:
Monuments such as the Cathedral, Saint Francis Church, Lello´s bookshop, Forte de São João Baptista, Palácio da Bolsa or Clérigos Church and tower.
Visit to “Foz do Douro”.
Transfer from Porto to Mesão Frio, in Douro Valley (1h30 min).
Day 03
The UNESCO Douro Valley
Transfer from the hotel to Peso da Régua (20 min)
Train ride from Peso da Régua to Pinhão (25 min). The Douro Valley conceals some of the most beautiful natural scenery of northern Portugal, which is formed of terraced vineyards and steep valleys. Snaking along the meandering river, much of the route is the scenic Linha do Douro Railway.
Transfer from Pinhão Train Station to Quinta do Tedo (15 min).
Lunch at Bistro restaurant at Quinta do Tedo, an eighteenth-century estate surrounded by terraced vineyards that climb high above the dramatic confluence of the Douro and Tedo rivers.
After lunch, you will have 2 hours of free time that can be used to enjoy resting in Quinta do Tedo, to go for a guided visit to Quinta do Tedo, or to go for a Boat Trip in the scenic region of Douro Valley (the transfer for the 1-hour boat trip will be offered to you by the tour leader).
Transfer from Douro Valley to Coimbra.
Day 04
UNESCO Coimbra city
Guided walking tour in the city of Coimbra. Coimbra offers an outstanding example of an integrated university city with a specific urban typology, as well as its own ceremonial and cultural traditions that have been kept alive through the ages.
Discover the charm of the picturesque and romantic streets, stairways, courtyards and medieval arches of Coimbra. The University of Coimbra, the uptown (“Alta”) and Sofia were classified by UNESCO as World Heritage sites. Coimbra becomes the 15th UNESCO World Heritage site in Portugal.
Lunch on your own in Coimbra, and enjoy the free afternoon to explore the city.
Transfer to Batalha and check-in in the Hotel.
Day 05
UNESCO Batalha Monastery, Nazaré beach & Óbidos Medieval Village
Morning Visit to the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, widely known as Batalha Monastery, a majestic building, declared World Heritage by UNESCO. Combining Manueline and Gothic styles, it was built from the 14th to the 16th century, to carry out the promise D. João I did to the Virgin in case of victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota, in 1385. In that battle, 6.500 Portuguese defeated an army of 35.000 Castilians.
Transfer from Batalha Monastery to Nazaré beach (30 min).
Lunch at Nazaré, on your own.
Transfer from Nazaré to Óbidos (35 min).
Free Time to explore the main street of Óbidos (Walled Medieval Village). One of the greatest pleasures of visiting Óbidos is wandering around its narrow streets and going up to its walls.
Day 06
Visit the Unesco Sintra city
Morning transfer from Óbidos to Sintra (1h30)
In Sintra, you have several beautiful places to visit. You can decide if you want to visit Pena Palace, one of the finest tourist attractions of Portugal and where we can see the 19th century Romanticism style of architecture, or the Moorish Castle with its amazing view of the valley, or the National Palace of Sintra in downtown.
Lunch at Sintra on your own.
Transfer to the Hotel in Lisboa.
Free time to see some of Lisbon and/or simply relax at the Hotel
Overnight in Hotel in Lisboa.
Day 07
Explore the capital - Lisboa
In the morning, a guided visit will take you to explore some highlights of Lisboa, namely the area of Belém, Graça, Alfama and the historical centre.
One of Europe’s most beautiful capitals, Lisbon has everything you need from a city break: delicious food, ancient monuments, trendy cafés, charming neighbourhoods, and a stunning riverside view over the Tejo make this the perfect destination to get a small taste of Portugal. Lisbon is known as the city of seven hills, though, so bring comfortable shoes and be prepared for a few up climbs – the views from the top will make it worth your while!
Free Lunch and time to explore Lisboa on your own or simply relax at the Hotel.
Overnight in Lisboa.
Day 08
Transfer from the Hotel in Lisboa to the Airport of Lisboa.
