Day 01
Arrival to Porto
Discover the enchanting city of Porto, a hilly haven where diverse architectural styles weave tales of rich history. Renowned globally for its prized fortified wine, Porto's viticultural heritage revolves around grapes cultivated along the Douro River valley.

Day 02
Stage 1: Porto | Ovar (46 km | +213m)
Embark on a scenic cycling journey today, tracing the meandering path of the Douro River until it gracefully meets the ocean. Heading south along the coast, follow well-maintained bike paths with the breathtaking backdrop of sandy beaches to your right. As you pedal, indulge in the abundance of inviting spots to pause and relish a traditional Portuguese meal or simply sip a refreshing drink while gazing at the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 03
Stage 2: Ovar | Aveiro  (40 km | +148m)
Embark on a journey from Ovar, heading south along the Aveiro Lagoon conservation area, a haven for diverse bird species. This pristine coastal marshland provides a picturesque backdrop for cyclists, leading towards Aveiro, often dubbed "the Venice of Portugal." The city enchants with its canals, charming bridges, and vibrant waterways, creating a dynamic contrast to the serene natural beauty of the lagoon.

Day 04
Stage 3: Aveiro | Mira (37 km | +123m)
Pedal southward to Ilhavo and explore the Marine Museum showcasing traditional boats used in the Aveiro Lagoon. Visit Vista Alegre, Portugal's oldest fine porcelain producer, in Ilhavo before crossing the Boco River to Vagueira. 
Return to the Atlantic shore and ride until you meet Mira. Experience the juxtaposition of dunes and the Atlantic on one side and the tranquil Barrinha de Mira lagoon on the other.

Day 05
Stage 4: Mira | Curia  (42 km | +327 mi)
Today's ride will start by  meandering along an inland cycle path through acacia forests, passing by farms, and charming villages. Your route leads you to the vineyards of the Bairrada region, situated in the western part of the Beiras, nestled between the mountainous Dão region and the Atlantic beaches. While the west remains flat, the eastern landscape unfolds into small hills, characterized by intensive farming and occasional woodlands.

Day 06
Stage 5: Curia | Coimbra (37 km | +247m)
Leaving Curia behind, you will be riding on a scenic cycling route alongside farms and picturesque rice fields, tracing the river's path with a final stretch through the enchanting Choupal National Forest before reaching the historic city of Coimbra.  Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the city's vibrant atmosphere, exploring its lively markets and fado bars. Don't miss the opportunity to pass through the UNESCO-designated University of Coimbra-Alta and Sofia, perched on a hill, which has flourished for over seven centuries.

Day 07
Free day in Coimbra
Take this opportunity to explore a blend of rich history and vibrant student life. Home to one of the world's oldest universities, the city boasts a UNESCO-designated historic center with narrow streets, historic buildings, and charming squares. Perched on a hill, Coimbra offers panoramic views of the Mondego River. Explore the university's Joanina Library, the Royal Palace, and the captivating botanical garden. Stage 6: Coimbra | Figueira da Foz  (52 km |  +317m)
On this day you’ll be steering towards the coastal gem of Figueira da Foz. This vibrant city earned its name from its strategic location at the mouth (Foz) of the River Mondego. Over the years, Figueira da Foz has evolved into one of the central highlights of Portugal's seaside resorts. As you pedal towards this enchanting destination, anticipate discovering a blend of seaside charm, recreational delights, and a rich cultural tapestry that characterizes Figueira da Foz as a must-visit destination along your cycling adventure.

Day 09
Stage 7: Figueira da Foz | São Pedro de Moel (65 km | +447mi)
Today's cycling adventure commences with a scenic journey crossing the Mondego River bridge, leading you to the vicinity of Carriço. From there, immerse yourself in a cycling path traversing the historic Pinhal de Leiria, a majestic pine forest dating back to the 14th century, planted by King D. Dinis to supply timber for shipbuilding. Along the route, discover small beaches such as Praia do Pedrógão, Praia da Vieira, and Praia de São Pedro de Moel, nestled amidst the pine forest-covered dunes like refreshing oases. São Pedro de Moel, with its expansive and wind-sheltered beach, beckons sports enthusiasts, offering an ideal setting for activities like windsurfing and diving.

Stage 8: São Pedro de Moel | Nazaré  (23 km | +269m)

The town gained international acclaim for its enormous waves, attracting surfers from around the globe. Beyond the surf culture, Nazaré boasts a scenic cliffside promenade offering breathtaking views of the ocean, making it a delightful blend of coastal beauty and cultural richness.

Free day in Nazaré | Extra stage: Alcobaça Loop  (30 km | +380m)
On this day you’ll have the opportunity to choose to have a resting day and have more time to dwell in Nazaré and soak in the richness of the region or have an extra cycling stage in Alcobaça. The town of Alocobaça showcases a harmonious blend of Gothic and Manueline styles. The imposing Alcobaça Monastery, founded in the 12th century, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and an emblem of Portugal's rich cultural heritage. After visiting Alcobaça, you’ll be riding back to Nazaré.

Stage 9: Nazaré | Foz do Arelho  (28km | +291m)
The next stop is Foz do Arelho. This coastal haven offers a distinctive choice between two contrasting beach experiences. Stage 10: Foz do Arelho | Óbidos (15 km | +196m)

You can make your own way by train or bus from Óbidos to Porto/Lisboa or ask for a private transfer from the hotel to Lisboa/Porto  (optional).
